Hard times often mean bigger gaps in opportunities for boys and girls. So, we wanted to make it super easy for our amazing donors to give whenever they felt that spark of inspiration.
I worked hard to add the Donate feature to our Instagram and Facebook pages using Meta and Stripe. This made us the first Canadian charity to have this feature! It allows people to donate directly from our profiles or posts. Plus, donors can create fundraisers for special events like birthdays or Mother’s Day. By allowing donations through social media, we let people donate with a tap whenever they feel inspired by our posts.
Implementation
We rolled out this new feature with our Until We Are All Equal Campaign. We created posts and Reels to spread the word about this cool new feature and how to use it. The response? Absolutely fantastic! People loved creating fundraisers for special milestones, and it gave our campaign a huge boost.

Launching a Shop on Meta
Launching a Shop on Meta
Since 2024 has been a hard year financially for almost everyone, everywhere, I knew we had to do something different to stand out in our annual holiday campaign. That’s why I decided to launch an Instagram shop using some of the most popular items from our Gifts of Hope Calendar.
I worked with the marketing, digital and brand teams to curate a list of items to be featured in our Instagram and Facebook shop.I made sure that we only selected the items that would appeal to social media audiences.
The Impact
As the campaign is still underway, we have yet to collect results but my enabling of this feature allowed the digital team to run ads to direct people toward the shop.

24-Hour Instagram Live
For 24-hours we went Live on Instagram in 1-hour segments. The goal was to raise awareness by staying in our follower’s notifications for 24 hours.
To achieve this we brought in talent from university campuses to Tunisia. We had painters, chefs, international singers, dare-takers and sibling rivalry - resulting in calls(and funds) from parents.
Each segment demanded different uses of digital technology which I had to anticipate and plan for. This included a live cooking challenge requiring coordination behind the camera and with the online audience. Another segment had a well-known Tunisian singer logging on from his living room. So we had to make sure the audio was optimized for a smart-phone audience.
After 12 segments, 27 participants and many impromptu acts we raised $133,000 for the project!

Event Promotion
Once pandemic restrictions lifted, it was time for in-person events again. So we hosted Trevor Noah in his first tour to Canada after the pandemic.
Trevor Noah’s stature as the host of the Daily Show brings his own press. My job as a social media manager was to make sure that everybody knew he was coming to Canada for our organization. We were monitoring all the social platforms, and liking, commenting, and linking our event page at every opportunity.
Within two weeks, we sold out 2000 tickets. And the stage was set.

I joined MY Voice as a Social Media Advisor to help the young team run their social platforms.
I ran two workshops with the team, one during their orientation for the larger team and one for the social media team. I helped them develop a social media calendar, develop posts and work cohesively as a team.
